Use a stop/go check
With the vehicle parked safely, confirm the mat is the correct row and orientation. Engage every permitted retainer, check that it sits flat, and pull it gently toward the pedals. Operate each pedal through its normal travel without letting the mat touch, curl, or slide into the mechanism.
Check after the driver seat moves and after the mat is cleaned or removed. A product that looks fitted from the passenger side can still have a forward edge or overlap at the pedal area.
