The short answer

Finish the installation with a functional check, not just a smooth appearance. Buckles must latch and release, seat adjustments must work, the cover must not pull against the seatback, and straps must stay clear of rails and wiring. A loose or over-tight cover can be a fit failure even when it looks tidy.

Final-fit checklist

Feature Test Failed fit
Buckles Insert and release every buckle Cover hides or loads the release.
Seat controls Slide, recline, fold, and raise as permitted Strap catches or pulls the mechanism.
Belt path Belt lies naturally and retracts Cover changes the belt angle.
Side seam Matches the airbag location Seam is absent, shifted, or modified.
Under-seat space No contact with rails or wiring Strap rubs or pinches.

Perform the check while parked and keep the installation guide in the vehicle. Do not cut a cover to make a buckle or airbag seam fit; use a product designed for the seat.

Limits

This guide does not certify a restraint system. Airbag warnings, damaged wiring, or a buckle that will not latch need qualified service.
